Overview

I run the weekly Instagram and Facebook content calendar for the Southern Utah University Tutoring Center, serving students who need academic support and practical study advice. I independently take content from topic selection through design, copy, scheduling, and publishing, with center staff approving each piece before it goes live. Since September 2026, I have published 20+ Reels, Stories, and posts about tutoring services, study skills, and tutor spotlights.

What I do

Content calendar
Plan weekly topics and a publishing schedule for Instagram and Facebook around tutoring services, study skills, and tutor spotlights.
Graphic design
Design posts and Stories in Canva, making service information and study advice easy to scan.
Short-form video
Edit Reels in CapCut and adapt the pacing and format for social viewing.
Copy & publishing
Write captions, prepare platform-specific content, and schedule and publish approved posts in Meta Business Suite.
Review collaboration
Send content to center staff for review, incorporate their feedback, and publish only after approval.
Performance review
Use Meta Insights to track views, reach, interactions, and follows, then use those signals to inform the next content calendar.

Key learnings

Read the metrics together.

Views show exposure; interactions and follows show different kinds of response. I use them together when planning the next round, rather than treating a high view count as proof that students used a service.

Write for students who are new to the center.

With 77.4% of views coming from non-followers, a post needs to make sense without account history: what tutoring offers, who it helps, and what a student can do next.

Match the topic to a campus need.

Service information, practical study advice, and tutor spotlights answer different student questions. Keeping these topics distinct gives me a clearer basis for comparing content and adjusting the weekly calendar.
